The Long Way Home

Welcome back one and all to my work and writing!

Where have I been?

I have been on a "sabbatical" if you will, that has helped me re-define and re-shape exactly who I am and what I do.

In my first iteration of this website, I was focused solely on matters of the athletic world. More precisely,

matters of how to bring athletic organizations and their participants to higher levels of achievement and satisfaction. A noble cause....but one I found myself "burning-out" with as a matter of course.

My sabbatical became a 2+ year journey back to the roots of corporate America. In doing so, I was able to watch

closely issues related to management direction, leadership, staff development, team construction, organizational definition, and customer satisfaction to name just a few. I've always been keenly aware of the relationship that exists between the machinations of the Corporate Culture and the Athletic Culture - in reality, they are two sides of the same coin. The skills we learn on the field of athletic competition serve us well in the offices and boardrooms across this country. And the disciplines found in successful business processes translate directly into any locker room you will find.

I am NOT the same person I was when I walked away from my successful consulting and training practice in 2015. I am a better, more rounded, and dare I say, more "complete" consultant/coach than I ever could have hoped for had I stayed doing what I had always known, in a manner I had always done.

In the cross-pollination of these cultural foundations, I have strengthened my message and re-tooled my processes to more effectively meet the intellectual, physical, and attitudinal needs of my clients.

We are all striving (I hope) to move from "good to great".

That is why I have established The Institute for Character and Ethics - to meet the needs of the corporate population....

And have refined The Center for Athletic Excellence - to more thoroughly address the principles and purposes

of the athletic dynamic at all levels.

One way I will do this is through my blogging efforts.

There will be daily motivational or inspirational writings that will be salient to anyone, from any discipline, who simply desires to be greater tomorrow than what they are today.

Also, there will be a weekly entries that will address issues from the athletic world one week, and the needs of the corporate culture the next. And somewhere along the line - if you pay close enough attention - you will see how the two are interrelated. And they are interrelated in such a way as they can positively serve the needs of all members of both constructs.

It's great to be back!

I am energized, enthusiastic, and fully prepared to work with all of you I knew before....and find some new friends along the way.

Let's all have a great 2018!
